Spoiler mode and special effects
Two switches: what you see before you own it, and what happens when you log it.

Both of these live in settings under shelves, and neither one changes your collection. They only change what you see.
Spoiler mode
Off unless you turn it on.
With it on, figures you don't own yet are hidden behind a silhouette: on series pages, on the set cards on your shelf, and when you go to add something. You still see how big the series is and how far along you are, you just don't see what you haven't pulled. When you add something, the name stays visible so you know what you're shelving; only the art is hidden.
Anything on your wishlist stays visible, because you already know what it is. Anything you own stays visible too.
Secrets follow the same rule as everything else. With spoiler mode off you can see a secret you do not own, art and name; with it on, the secret is hidden along with the rest.
Special effects
On unless you turn it off.
With it on, marking a figure as owned plays the full-screen reveal: the figure comes up, the XP lands on it, and if that figure finished the series, the completion moment plays there too.
With it off, marking a figure does exactly the same thing to your collection and your XP, just without the reveal. Nothing is lost and nothing is skipped.
Both are worth having. Some people want the unboxing twice, once with the box and once in the app. Some people are logging thirty figures in one go and want it out of the way.
